Vietnam's tourism industry served an estimated 6.5 million tourists during the five-day National Day holiday from August 29 to September 2, up 18.1% year-on-year.
Under Resolution No. 47/NQ-HDND dated December 8, 2025, on the province's 2026 socio-economic development plan, Ninh Binh aims to welcome 20 million visitors this year, including three million international arrivals, while generating 20 trillion VND (760 million USD) in tourism revenue.
Ninh Binh province welcomed more than 17.61 million tourist arrivals in the first half of 2026, representing a year-on-year increase of 23.34%, according to the provincial Department of Tourism.
Renewing tourism products, reviving night tourism, shifting from quantity to quality are new directions for Ninh Binh’s tourism sector.
Ninh Binh's tourism strategy aims to comprehensively digitise data on heritage sites, destinations, and services, while simultaneously developing a new-generation smart tourism application. Building on the breakthrough results of the previous phase, Ninh Binh's tourism industry is determined to shift its strategy from "quantity" to "quality" improving services, products, and competitiveness of the local destinations.
Tourism revenue for the January-October period was estimated at 77.4 trillion VND (2.93 billion USD), up 19.8% year-on-year, while accommodation and food service revenue climbed 14.6% to 695.1 trillion VND. Major destinations including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Ninh, Khanh Hoa and Phu Quoc all reported sustained increases in international arrivals.
